The period placed him inside the work of representation, national decision-making and public accountability.
Finance and Estimates Committee
During his parliamentary term, Thapelo chaired Botswana's Finance and Estimates Committee.
The responsibility gave him a close view of how public institutions set priorities, account for resources and translate national decisions into practical outcomes.
What public service changed
Public service deepened Thapelo's understanding of institutions, public accountability and the distance that can exist between decisions and people's lived realities.
It also reinforced a central belief in his work: positions are temporary, but trust, judgement and useful contribution must survive the office.
After office
Public service remains part of Thapelo's perspective, but it does not define the whole of his work.
The current chapter is focused on building businesses and African platforms through Bolden.
